Acadia Recreation Club. The
original purpose of the 1924 club
which is to provide an area and hall for
community picnics and special events
has been
carried on by the members of the club throughout
the years and is still the theme of today. The
Club Members of today are still
all
volunteers. WE
HAVE NO PAID STAFF. The executive and the hall
managers do not get a cent for the operation of
the hall. The club also tries to keep the cost
down for the community groups of Sackville and
surrounding area.
The Acadia Recreation Club is
operated like any other organization with a
President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer
and up to 13 directors. This group looks after
the operation of the club as a whole and the
Hall managers look after the daily running of
the hall and grounds. We have a general meeting on the 4th
Wednesday of every month except June, July,
August and December where the executive reports
to the members at large and gets approval for
major decisions.
